Two different things, so they are written out separately below.
Thirty days, no reason needed, on every file sold here. Email hello@whathitmyhouse.com with the link you were given after paying, or the last eight characters of your Stripe reference, and the charge is reversed.
You keep the files. Asking for them back would be theatre: you already have them, and a dataset built from public-domain federal records is not something anyone can meaningfully repossess. We would rather be easy to get money back from than argue over $19.
Refunds go to the card that paid. Stripe usually shows them within a few days, though some banks take up to ten.
There is nothing to cancel on a data pack. Every download sold on this site is a single charge. No trial converts into anything, no card is kept on file for a later renewal, and no subscription exists to forget about.
The two monthly care plans sold under the Firstrung and SiteRelay names are the only recurring charges on this Stripe account. Cancel either by emailing the address on that product's own site and saying cancel. It stops at the end of the period already paid for. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and no contract. Part-months are not refunded, which is the one place this policy is less generous than the rest of it.
It will read Ace Systems on your statement, plus a short product code such as
WEATHER DATASET. Ace Systems is the registered name of the Stripe account behind
The Boring Thing. If that is the charge you are looking at, this is where it came from.
You are entitled to dispute a charge with your bank and we will not contest one. It is slower for you than emailing, and it costs us a fee, so the email is better for both of us. Either way you are not locked out of anything.
